Transforming your trailers
The VE Motion Powered Trailer System transforms any heavy-duty trailer into a plug-in, hybrid electric workhorse. You can now pair a traditional diesel prime mover with an electric motor generator (E-axle).
What used to be dead weight now adds more power – the trailer pushes forward as the truck pulls, delivering smoother, smarter performance. It’s a practical, modular solution that gives fleets the power, efficiency and savings of electrification, without replacing the trucks you already own.

How it works
When connected to your truck, the powered trailer assists the engine – strengthening acceleration and climbing power, especially when pulling heavy loads.
The E-axle delivers up to 295 kW of peak power (400hp) and 14,000 Nm of torque, helping your truck and allowing your driver to make the same journey in the same time, with less diesel.
The Powered Trailer System is available with scalable battery capacities of 200kWh, 400kWh or 600kWh, allowing fleets to match energy storage to route length, payload and duty cycle. The battery system is certified to UN R100r3 and complies with Australian Design Rule (ADR) 109, ensuring it meets stringent Australian safety and regulatory requirements.
Our products see up to 50% diesel reduction, longer component life, and a cleaner, quieter, more efficient fleet – with minimal change to how drivers operate.
2. Stores it
Energy is stored in on-board battery packs, ready to use when needed – cutting fuel consumption and powering systems without interrupting the truck.
3. Puts it to work
The stored power drives the trailer’s electric axle. It can also be used to run auxiliary systems like refrigeration units; it is effectively an on-board power source. No wasted energy, no idle fuel burn.
